¶ 722.
Standards for Computer Information and Data--1. Each general agency, as
it creates or maintains computerized information and data, which may need to be
shared electronically with other connected units, shall attempt to use the
standards and guidelines established and maintained by the General Council on
Finance and Administration for use throughout the denomination as set forth in:
(a) the denominational standards for computer information and data;
(b) operations guidelines for Church computer data; and (c) legal
guidelines for Church computer data.
If a general agency determines
that one of the aforementioned standards or guidelines is not practical for its
administration, that agency shall consult with and provide an alternative plan
to the General Council on Finance and Administration prior to implementing the
alternative plan.
2. Each connectional unit (annual
conference, jurisdiction, area, missionary conference, mission, district) within
the jurisdictional conferences, including any related agency (¶ 701.1), as
it creates or maintains computerized information and data, shall use the
denominational standards for computer information and data and the operations
and legal guidelines for Church computer data established and maintained by the
General Council on Finance and Administration.
3. Within the central
conferences, each connectional unit (central conference, area, annual
conference, provisional annual conference, missionary conference, mission,
district) and any agency related to such a connectional unit, as it creates or
maintains computerized information and data, insofar as practicable, shall use
the denominational standards for computer information and data and the
operations and legal guidelines for Church computer data established and
maintained by the General Council on Finance and
Administration.
