¶ 424.
Program--1. To oversee the programs of the Church within the bounds of
the district in cooperation with pastors and congregations, working with and
through the district council on ministries where it
exists.
2. To work cooperatively with the
conference council on ministries or alternative structure and its staff in all
program concerns of the Church; may serve as a member of the annual conference
council on ministries.
3. To give leadership within the
district in the quest for Christian unity and interreligious relationships as an
extension of the episcopal office.
4. To establish long-range
planning that is responsive to ecumenical and racially inclusive perspectives
and to initiate new and vital forms of ministry.
5. To participate with the
cabinet in submitting to the annual conference a report reflecting the state of
the conference, with recommendations for greater
effectiveness.
