Agenda and
Program
The most frequently asked question
of the newsroom staff is, “When will the delegates be voting
on _______?”
Except for a few predetermined orders of the day, the
answer is, “We don’t know!” We understand how
frustrating that is for you --- and for us --- but we do not
know what will be discussed until the agenda committee makes
that determination late each night. Even then, if the
delegates get wound up on a particular topic, the proposed
agenda can be (and often is) changed. Our best advice is for
you to check the proposed daily agenda that will be posted in
the newsroom each morning (or consult the Daily Christian
Advocate each morning). It is important to remember that, with
few exceptions, legislative committees meet the first week and
all delegates meet as a whole the second week. Decisions reached by
legislative committees on a petition or group of petitions are
not final. They can be, and often are, changed when the
delegates meet as a whole. Decisions are not final until
the entire group acts.
